The Sports Medicine Pathway introduces students to the specialized branch of medicine that focuses on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries. Students will gain knowledge through hands-on experiences in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, modalities, and rehabilitation. This pathway will give students opportunities to work with healthcare professionals in the community and expose them to potential careers in Sports Medicine. Students will obtain certification in CPR/AED and Stop the Bleed.
Internships- Stormont Vail Healthcare Internship, USD 501 Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Washburn University Athletic Training

Course Sequence at TCALC:
Year 2 (semesters 3 & 4) students will attend in the morning session, while Year 1 (semesters 1 & 2) students will attend in the afternoon session.

The instructor for the Sports Medicine pathway is Mrs. Megan Tetuan. Mrs. Tetuan graduated from The University of Kansas 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer. Her work experience includes: Susan B Allen in El Dorado, KS for 2 years, UKHS St Francis- Athletic Trainer at TWHS for 14 years, and here at TCALC for 2 years teaching Sports Medicine Pathway.
